Our is a small farm with agriturismo (farmhouse) that currently counts only 5 hectares of vineyards.
We believed in this new wine area where the tradition of the winemaking was famous during the Etruscan Age, but lost to change into wheat lands.
The passion for wine exists since ever, as we come from a tradition of restaurants for more than 32 years.
We purchased Marcampo in 2003 following the sale of the first restaurant to create a reality that was entirely ours. In 2007 the first harvest happened with lots of satisfaction.
Thanks to the ancient presence of the sea in the whole territory, the vines grow on a purely clay soil rich in salt which make this territory unique and in fact we follow the organic rules. All processes are manual to have a better control of their quality. In the cellar, we respect the characteristics of the wines given by the soil and climate, trying to make them the perfect expression of the territory to which we belong.
The farm is family run, from processing in the vineyard to bottling and sales.
At the moment we produce around 22.000 bottles. A white, a rosé and four red wines from Vermentino, Sangiovese, Merlot, Ciliegiolo and Pugnitello grapes.

Amazing host and wine tasting experience. Well worth the visit to this boutique vineyard. Tours can be in English or Italian.

Marcampo is a very unique and incredibly beautiful spot, in Tuscany in the middle of a vineyard. Claudia, the owner, works very hard and is very very nice and will go out of your way to answer any and all of your questions. I am a chef in Arizona, and I highly recommend the cooking class with her. Incredible! The breakfasts each morning were wonderful. The homemade apple cake and walnut cakes to die for! I recommend Marcampo 100%. Volterra is gorgeous, and our day trips to Florence, San Gimignano and Siena were fabulous!

We went to Podere Marcampo to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and we had a delightful experience. Claudia and her staff were amazing, and the view of the surrounding landscape was so tranquil and peaceful. We were running a little late for the wine tour, however Claudia was able to accommodate us and provide translation in English. Our stay at the local quarters was very nice, a cozy bedroom that had a large bed for 2, and a smaller bed for 1; with an in quarters full-bathroom. The outdoor pool was perfect and it set the mood for the evening. Come morning time, Marcampo provided their guests with a nice breakfast buffet, consisting of bread with jam, assorted meats and cheese, cereal, fruits, cake and water, juice, and fresh coffee prepared to order. The staff in it’s entirety went above and beyond to ensure our stay was most enjoyable. This is a must visit for any nature lover and people who appreciate Tuscany at its finest. Thank you again Claudia, we would love to come back and visit again!

On our trip from Holland to Campania we’ve stopped at Volterra in Tuscany.
Our good friend Raffaella advised us to make the stop here and as always she was so right. We’ve felt in love instantly with the scenery, the building, the winery and the owner Claudia. She has written “hospitality” all over her. It was a bit to cold to use the swimming pool but for the summer guests it is available and allows you to swim, drink a glass (or bottle) of the beautiful wines (the rosé is the best I had in years) en enjoy the amazing panorama. First time in Tuscany but not the last time for sure

In my birthday my boyfriend prepared for me surprise and we came to this wonderful place for wine testing. I can say it was my best experience in Italy: very beautiful place, very unique and nice vine and truly amazing and passioned about wine host!!
I highly recommend to visit this place to everyone who is staying in Tuscany. You will have a chance to experience very deep Italian atmosphere which is difficult to find in any other touristic places!!!

I booked a wine tasting based on location from the hotel me and my family were staying at for ease because I have been to Volterra previously and done a wine tour. One of my group hadn’t so I found this place by google search and have to say I was amazed by what a lovely time we had. When we arrived we were welcomed by Claudia who told us about the farm and showed us around before inviting us to taste the wines. The wine tasting was informative but also fun because I know nothing about wine except what I like and what I don’t, but we were encouraged to enjoy the wine and relax. There was no sales talk, simply Claudia inviting us to enjoy the wines with some local meats and cheeses.

Who knew there was so much to wine! Incredibly informative and delicious.
Definitely getting more than value for money, everyone is so friendly and welcoming (especially the wine and gorgeous dog). Cannot recommend enough.
Also, you can buy the wine you taste so can take it with you – perfect!

Marcampo is truly lovely. So beautiful and quiet. 10 minutes from Voltara which is also a lovely little hill town. It is also convenient for day trips to many other towns. The winery tour and tasting was fantastic. Hearing how this family has grown their business and their dedication to their work was truly inspirational. My kids loves it as well. Very large suite, good amount of food for breakfast. The only bummer was the hot tub/pool does not open until May.

We stayed for four nights and loved every minute. Stunning views, spacious and comfortable room, delicious breakfast, lovely family! Soooo quiet at night, only an occasional dog barking in the far distance. Claudia is lovely, welcoming and helpful. If you have the opportunity, we highly, highly recommend her cooking class at their excellent Ristorante del Duca in Volterra. Truly one of the highlights of our trip!! Take home a bottle of Claudia’s father’s award winning Merlot.

We loved this place! The accommodations are marvelous. A great part of this experience is the people. This is a family run farm / business and they are people you would choose for family. Claudia makes everyone feel special. Genuino is exactly that – a genuine gentleman. They welcome you into their home and make you feel at home. We highly recommend this experience.
