The wines of the Lucca Hills wine tasting Lucca wineries
they have a tradition that we can even connect to Roman times and the Middle Ages. According to some historians it seems that even before the Romans the hills of Lucca were cultivated by the Etruscans who lived in Lucca and then by the Ligurians who knew the art of viticulture and olive growing well. Lucca wine tasting The richness of the area is however highlighted by documents prior to the year 1000 according to which “the slopes of the hills north of Lucca were covered with vineyards in the ninth century”
THE WINES OF VERSILIA
Versilia is the beautiful place that, from the peaks of the Apuan Alps, descends steep hills towards the Tyrrhenian Sea. Land famous for its long beaches and pine forests, but also for its excellent wines. One of the most important characteristics of Versilia wines is the fact that they have managed to perfectly mix local vines with varieties of French origin.
Thanks also to the mild climate with midday exposure and the presence of high peaks that protect the grapes from cold temperatures and which contribute to creating wines with a high sugar content and intense aromas.
