In Tuscany there are various disciplines that give the guidelines to the production of Tuscan wine. Here below you can find some information about the most important DOC and DOCG, highlighting in which territory or with which grapes it is produced.

Sangiovese: 70%-100%

Grapes of vines suitable for cultivation in the Tuscany region can be selected.
In addition:
– white grape varieties individually or jointly, maximum 10%;
– the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, individually or jointly, maximum 15%.
Released for consumption, 1 March of the year next the harvest; excluding Chianti Superiore, Rufina and Colli Fiorentini: 1 September. (Reserve at least 2 years)

In the sub-area of the province of Siena
Sangiovese: 75%-100%

maximum 25% red berried grapes allowed for the Tuscany Region, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon individually or jointly maximum 10%.
Released for consumption, 1 March of the year following the harvest. (Reserve at least 2 with at least 8 months in wooden barrels)
