Our passion for farming and grape growing comes from afar and is well rooted in our family. After producing grapes for decades, in 2014 we decided to start making our own wine in line with the production choices that other wine producers of Cortona have implemented in the last few years.
In small-medium sized company like ours, the production philosophy cannot be other than focusing on a single goal: quality.
Every choice of our company is extremely important and implies absolute dedication and attention to every single detail.
No shortcuts are allowed, neither in the vineyard nor in the winery.
Every vintage is interpreted as it is, without any form of homogenization.Visitors are more than welcome at Cantina Canaio. We have conceived different types of guided visits and wine tasting experiences at the winery that can lead you to discover the taste and the perfume of our products, from wine to olive oil, which are perfectly paired with traditional Tuscan food.

COOKING CLASS – min.4 people – € 130pp
Cooking class with Claudia, an authentic Tuscan Massaia, you will prepare traditional Tuscan dishes that you will then taste paired with our wines

We had a fantastic afternoon at the beautiful Cantina Canaio! The views from the property are breathtaking—the best landscape we’ve seen in the Cortona area!
Mirco and the staff were incredible hosts. Mirco’s tour was very informative and it was easy to see all the steps of the winemaking process. Not only were the wines at the tasting delicious, but the lunch they served was perfect!
Although this is a newer winery, the strong family tradition here made it more memorable than some of the more well-known and established wineries we have visited this vacation. In my opinion, the intimate, family atmosphere as the grower and the winemaker is what marks the true tradition of Tuscan winemaking! We made sure to order several cases of wine to ship home in order to remember the day!
